School ProceduresWhat if your child needs to stay home from school?
Please call the Sheridan office (847) 234-1160 by 7:30 a.m to notify the school. What if your child becomes ill at school? Cynthia Borosh, the school nurse, will call you if there is an instance of illness at school. Email her at [email protected] for any questions you may have. What if your child is late? Currently, there is a district wide “Start on Time” initiative to alleviate tardiness at all schools. When students are late it distracts the teachers and has a detrimental effect on our students. Tardy students will be tracked and a letter will be sent home following the 5th tardy and a parent-administration meeting will be scheduled after the 7th tardy. If your child arrives later, please have them check in with the school office to get a slip from the secretary to notify the teacher they have been accounted for in the attendance for the day. What is a Green Note (Temporary Transportation Change Form)? A Green Note is a special note from Home that communicates to the office information regarding dismissal procedures for your child. Contact the Sheridan Office if you need additional Green Notes. What are the school office hours? Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. When is there supervision at the playground? More info on this to come. How can I find out if the school is closed due to severe weather?
